Jean de Pomereu, Scott Polar Research Institute
Jean de Pomereu is an Associate of the Scott Polar Research Institute in the University of Cambridge. He received his PhD in September 2015 from the University of Exeter for research on the cultural and scientific history of the Greenland and Antarctic ice sheets. His doctoral research was funded by an Arts and Humanities Research Council (AHRC) Collaborative Doctoral Award and was hosted by the Royal Geographical Society (with IBG) in London, of which he is now a Fellow. Jean’s primary field of interest is in the history of polar exploration and science, especially where it relates to glaciology. His other area of expertise is in the history of the visual culture and representation of Antarctica.
